I love designing custom albums!

April 7, 2010
Naylor Hall, Roswell     http://www.naylorhall.com/

Martha and Steve were married in September of 2009 at historic Naylor Hall in Roswell. They each bring children into the marriage Brady Bunch style and the mix was magical. Martha's son escorted her down the aisle and gave the bride away. The ceremony was filled with the beautiful presence of all their children and after the ceremony, when they all gathered together it was one of the sweetest sights I have ever seen!

The reception was fun and filled with family and friends. The toast was given by Martha's son and brought tears to many eyes. On the dance floor the families truly united as the new siblings danced and celebrated together.

Weddings are all about love...between the new couples as well as between families joining together in celebration and growing more lives together.

Here are the pages for Martha and Steve's album which were just approved for printing Tuesday evening. They loved them and will be receiving the album right before they leave for their long awaited honeymoon in Italy this summer!

As with all my custom designed albums, it was specially designed with the style preferred by the Bride and Groom. They have opportunites to choose the images that go in the album and final approval on the design. After all, it was their day and they deserve to remember it in a way that is truly their style!

Call us and see how we can create an album that reflects your style!

North Springs Charter High School Performing Arts Department Presents "The Producers" by Mel Brooks

Saturday, March 20, 2010
NSPVA Friends: http://www.northspringshigh.com/

Amazing...hysterical...entertainment worth waiting for! Well, I may not be a critic, but as an avid Mel Brooks fan, I was very impressed by the talent at North Springs Charter High School and their production of "The Producers".

After shooting the headshots for the Performing Arts Department, the staff provided me with 2 tickets to see the performance. I'm not sure how long it takes to stage, choreograph, learn lines, practice and learn all the songs but it was such an awesome performance. Of course, camera in hand, I attended with my husband on Saturday for the matinee. No flash was allowed to keep the attention on the stage where it should be. I took about 400 shots, which I will donate to the Performing Arts Department to share with the talent. Enjoy!

The main characters were played by:
Adam Benz as Max Biaylstock
Brian Brandt as Leo Bloom
Chris Kaiser as Franz Liebkind
Spencer Showalter as Roger DeBris
Tommy Lennon as Carmen Gia
Mary Malloy as Ulla Inga Hansen Benson Yonsen Tallen-Hallen Svaden Swanson

The Orchestra provided the live music for the show...they were great!

You still have several opportunites this weekend to see this great performance. Click on the link above for more information!

Thanks again North Springs Charter High School Performing Arts Department!

North Springs High School Theatre Department

Monday, March 8, 2010
Tuesday, March 9, 2010
North Springs High School, Sandy Springs, GA
http://www.northspringshigh.com/

Having been a long ago fan of any type of performing arts and visual arts, it was truly an honor when I was asked to come and shoot the headshots for the members of the theatre department at North Springs High School. NSHS is a magnet school with it's base in the arts. Immediately, due to my age of course, the old tv show and movie "Fame" came to mind. With dancing, acting, singing and all the talent in that type of environment, I jumped at this opportunity. I love being surrounded by other creative types. This was not the typical high school drama club, these are students who really want to live this life and surround themselves with staff and family who support that. What an amazing group of people, students, staff and parents.

In high school the only classes I cared about were filled with creative students and teachers. I excelled in classes like drama, oral interpretation, photography, drawing, anything artistic. This was my passion as well from early in my life. My teachers understood and supported me and I understood them. My junior year, one of my drawings went in to the Upstate Eight Art Exhibit. The only drawing from my school, a school with a graduating class of about 700. So you see, I was destined to always have art in my life. I just didn't realize it until later on in life. If you have a passion...fulfill it...you won't be sorry.

North Springs High School is putting on "The Producers" from March 19 through March 27. If you have never seen this hilarious Mel Brooks musical, come and see it now! There are eight shows including two matinees. Follow the link above for more info and for ticket information.

Support the arts!

Allison and Kurt, A Country Engagement Session

Sunday, February 21, 2010
Autrey Mill Nature Preserve, Johns Creek GA     www.autreymill.org

Although it has been a dreary, cold and damp winter throughout much of North America, especially for us Georgian's who are usually spoiled by much more temperate weather than this, a sunny afternoon, and a sweet couple like Allison and Kurt can bring out the sunshine in the hearts of just about anyone.

We met at Autrey Mill Nature Preserve for a 4:30pm e-session, the best time of the day at this time of year as the daylight slowly starts to descend and the beautiful light at the end of the day lends itself to golden tones and creates soft shadows and great skin tones. Autrey Mill is one of my favorite places to shoot after discovering it when I received my new Nikon D3 last summer and needed a new place to try it out.

Allison had picked out their outfits for the session, even the pups were dressed to match, and they really fit the setting well. It was relaxed and fun and like usual, when I get together with my couples for this type of shoot, very little posing is done. It's just a get to know each other session. I do very little prompting and just help them to relax and play a little in front of the camera so they can be more comfortable in front of me on the wedding day.

Allison and Kurt came in to my office today to pick out their favorites and here are a few of theirs as well as a few of mine.

This isn't your ordinary High School Sports Program

February 24, 2010

Two weeks ago I received a phone call from the Booster Club of the East Coweta High School Lacrosse team asking if I would shoot the team and individual photos for this years program. Apparently, one of the Seniors I photographed was so happy with her photo session that she requested I shoot the Lacrosse photos as well. They were tired of the same old yearbook headshots and wanted something a little different. Something a little more expressive and contemporary to really showcase the players.

What an honor it was to shoot with these athletes! The JV boys were all about having a little fun for their photos. The weather was warm on Monday and it was a great day and we had perfect weather. Tuesday was a little bit of a different story. The girls were great sports in the windy cold weather. They did some fun, sporty, sassy poses and faked being warm...you couldn't tell from looking at the photos just how cold it really was. The Varsity team coach wanted a different approach for his team. He wanted the photos after a hard hitting practice when they were tired, cold, sweaty and mean. Just like in the games...well, except for the tired part. We came up with this entering the field through the tunnel look and I think it was a great approach. Just what our coach was looking for.

If you know any other sports teams looking for a little something different for their programs give me a call and we would be happy to put something together for you.

Christina & Matt's Wedding at Druid Hills Golf Club is on Getmarried.com Real Weddings!

Sunday, February 7, 2010
Superbowl Sunday, My husband's Birthday, and My Real Wedding on Getmarried.com

It's live and it's online on getmarried.com. Get Married airs every Saturday morning on WeTV at 9:30AM and when the notice came out that they were looking for a wedding with a blue theme the first thing that came to my mind was the beautiful wedding of Christina and Matt at Druid Hills Golf Club in September of 2009. The theme colors were chocolate brown and Tiffany blue so I thought, PERFECT! The team at Get Married loved the bride, the groom, the theme, the venue and my photos.

Christina and Matt were thrilled and so was Becky at Druid Hills. Please take some time to view the images by clicking on the link.

When the notice went out that Getmarried.com was looking for weddings with a blue theme, I immediately thought of Christina and Matt. Not only were they a sweet, fun couple, who just happened to be gorgeous, the theme of their wedding at Druid Hills was chocolate brown and Tiffany blue. And, to top it all off, the decor at Druid Hills is also brown and blue...!

I sent the information off to the staff at Get Married and got a reply back within 24 hours...we were in! Christina was so excited and was calling Becky in the Sales/Catering department at Druid Hills to let her know as well.

A few days later Christina came in with her mom to help select some of her favorite photos for the site and then I narrowed it down with some of my own. I hope you will take some time to look through them and let us know how you like them.

Give us a call and see how we can take care of your photography needs for your wedding day or any portrait needs and while you're at it...call Becky at Druid Hills. They did an amazing job for Christina and Matt and I'm sure will do great things for you as well!
