Destination Cancun: Trash the Dress

December 4, 2010
Excellence Playa Mujeres

The final day of my coverage of this beautiful wedding of Rebecca and Michael. It was a short trip with many hours of work and fun and I had so much fun working with Rebecca and Michael to capture every detail and memory. After all, after the wedding is over all you have left are your memories in photographs.

The bride and groom along with family and friends spent the day relaxing at the pool, jetskiing, playing volleyball and just having fun in the sun.

Around 3, they started getting ready for the trash the dress session. I thought it would be fun to start and end with a photo of their clothing. Let's just see how trashed this dress gets!

With such an amazing venue, finding spots for creating these images was easy...too easy in fact...just too many terrific locations and too little time! Didn't want to wear out the newlyweds! Here are some of the shots we got with Rebecca and Michael. They were so much fun and willing to do just about anything. I love a playful bride and groom!

Things got a little steamy on the beach...

And of course...to finish things off the final image of the dress and suit...no worries all the sand and water were rinsed off in the shower and the dress survived!

Next blog post will be an update on the upcoming Bridal Fitness and Beauty Seminar next month. Spots are limited so call and book yours today. No cost and the advice you will receive from industry leaders will be outstanding!

Destination Cancun Part V: Bride and Groom Portraits

December 3, 2010
Excellence Playa Mujeres

The ceremony couldn't have been more beautiful! Rebecca and Michael were ready to celebrate with family and friends after months of planning their perfect day...but first a few beautiful portraits to remember this spectacular event and location in Cancun.

We began with a few quick shots with the entire wedding party on the beach and around the resort at Excellence Playa Mujeres.
We always try to find some cool areas that may have an accent color that works with the bridesmaid's dresses, or some other interesting feature and make this fun without taking hours of time. We understand that the bridal party wants to get to the reception as soon as possible with the sacrifice of pictures to remember each moment of the day.
Now the bridal party is on the way to the party and it's time for some alone time with Rebecca and Michael. Since we already had an engagement session, they are both very comfortable in front of the camera and we know how to work together easily. There were so many great locations at the resort so we picked a few of our favorites knowing we could get to more of them at the Trash the Dress session the next day.
From a simple kiss to dancing on the beach at sunset...romance was in the air and love filled the night. Thanks so much Rebecca and Michael for the amazing trip, the fabulous moments and most of all for letting me be a part of your life and this special day.

Let me be a part of your day and let's see what amazing moments we can create!

Please make your comments below...we are always looking for suggestions and ways to improve our service and capture the perfect moment!

Destination Cancun, Part IV, The Celebration

December 3, 2010
Excellence Playa Mujeres

The highlight of the trip is said and done...Rebecca and Michael are now husband and wife...the perfect union. Now it's time to PARTY!!!

After the ceremony and formal pictures and much needed alone time with their photographer...ahem...Rebecca and Michael joined their guests for cocktail hour on the beach. What an amazing setting! Hugs and kisses were given...shots were drunk...the party was officially ON!

The group moved on to the outdoor poolside restaurant for the reception. Rebecca and Michael were announced and went straight into their first dance...a choreographed dance they had been taking lessons for and it really paid off. They put on quite a show and looked fantastic!

As everyone seated for dinner, we noticed all the little touches the bride and groom had put into the planning of this destination wedding. From gift bags at the rehearsal dinner to the custom menu...everything was spectacular. Doesn't that dessert look to die for?

The cake was in line with all the other decor in its bright colors...and the bride and groom enjoyed cutting into it!
Toasts were given by the Rebecca's sisters, Cassandra and Lissa; Cory, Rebecca's dad, and eventually all the bridal party. Then the bride and groom took the time and thought to thank all their family and friends who traveled all the way to Mexico to help them celebrate their new lives together.

Now it was time to dance the night away. From the whole bridal party, to slow dancing to a little "Dirty Dancing".
When another bride at the resort came over to meet Rebecca, they found out they only lived about 30 minutes apart in Illinois! How cool is that!

The next morning, after a few hangover cures...the party continued on the beach with jet sking, parasailing, volleyball and just plain fun in the sun!

Later that afternoon it would be time for the "Trash the Dress" session with Rebecca and Michael. Watch for the next episode of "Destination Cancun".
